I gave this a go, but... I think I'm leaning more toward Simon's negative response. I enjoyed the first couple chapters, but after that the book had no hooks in me--I was mildly interested in the lead, in the observations, and mostly uninterested in the mystery, and... after a while it was work to pick it up and keep going. So I've moved on.
